Adaptive output stabilisation of nonlinear systems

We consider a class of input output systems which are interconnected with a causal operator; it comprises infinite dimensional systems, systems with hysteresis, and input-to-state stable systems. For this class, a single adaptive controller is designed so that the closed-loop system guarantees asymptotic tracking with a pre-specified accuracy of a large class of reference signals and robustness with respect to noise. The controller is simple in its design, and the results are also new in a non-adaptive context.
